Coyle scores 4 in one match for Bolton at masters…

Bolton Wanderers manager, Owen Coyle, headed a Wanderers Masters team who finished as runners-up to Liverpool in todays Masters tournament.

Coyle opened the scoring for his side after just 30 seconds in the opening group match against Tranmere Rovers. Coyle went on to score a further three goals in the same game as they saw off Tranmere 4-3. Bolton then beat Wigan 2-1 to top the group and make it through to the final against Liverpool.

Unfortunately Liverpool finished the day in style as they beat Bolton 5-1 to win the tournament and progress onto the National competition.

The Masters tournament was supposed to see Bolton legends Ivan Campo and Jay Jay Okocha star for the Wanderers team but the duo were “unavailable”. Many Bolton fans were left feeling pretty let down by the no-show.

Players who did turn out for Bolton were Owen Coyle, Scott Green, David Lee, Mark Seagraves, Julian Darby, Simon Charlton, Greg Strong and Gavin Ward.
