Wanderers to miss out on Vela – West Brom land striker

28Jan11

Long term Wanderers target Carlos Vela of Arsenal is set to sign on loan with West Bromich Albion for the rest of the season.

Bolton had been in pole position to land the highly rated striker but it would appear that Vela will now sign for Albion. According to reports, Arsenal manager Aresene Wenger, believes his player will see more game time at Albion than at Bolton and would prefer Vela to stay in the Premiership instead of Spanish club Valencia who were also interested.

Bolton’s only option now would be to assure Wenger game time for the youngster in every match, a move which could be detrimental to the morale of other players at the club.

However, Bolton’s current strike pair, Elmander and Davies have gone off the boil in recent games and the Bolton squad is severely lacking depth to push them for their places in the side.

My personal opinion would be to get Vela at all costs and drop Kevin Davies who has been first on the team sheet for far too long.

I think Vela should go to the club where he can get more first team action, instead going there to warm the bench, wenger should think twice before unleashing this high profile, prolific attacker, whom I think in the near future will spear head arsenal attack, because, if Vela is not good, I don’t think the likes of Velencia, Bolton etc will come calling for his services. Jack Wilshere benefited immensely from such loan last season, today wilshere is one of the hottest mid fielders in Europe confirming it with FIFA 2nd best youg player in the world beating the likes of Bojan of barcelona. The best is yet to come for Vela and Arsenal in general.

As a fan of Vela who has been following him since he was FIFA world champions with Mexico’s U-17 I am disappointed he didnt join you’re fine club,Good luck to Bolton and hopefully they get and reach to play European ball next season..
