Burnley V BOLTON Team Line Up News

Tonight Bolton Wanderers travel to local rivals Burnley in the Carling Cup third round. The turf Moor clash will see a hot reception for Wanderers manager Owen Coyle as he returns to his former club. Burnley will be fielding a strong side for the cup tie while Bolton are set to make several changes to the side who drew with Aston Villa at the weekend.

Andy O’Brien, Joey O’Brien, Ricardo Gardner, Jlloyd Samuel and Sean Davis are all likely to miss out on a starting place while Tamir Cohen comes back into contention after his religious holiday.

Bolton Wanderers are likely to line up as follows for the tie:

Steinsson Ricketts Knight Alonso
Blake MDavies Cohen Taylor
Moreno Elmander/Klasnic

Of course Holden or Muamba could retain their spot in place of Tamir Cohen and there is also the potential that Blake could start up front which means Lee could feature.

The Clarets will be up for this one with a big following behind them looking to exact some sort of revenge on their departed former manager. It will be a real Cup atmosphere and it could prove a difficult tie for the Wanderers. Burnley have won all of their home games this season so far and will be looking to extend that run and progress to the fourth round. Bolton, meanwhile have won two and drawn one of their four away games this season and it will be up to the squad players to continue their good form and fight for their place ready to face Manchester United on Saturday.

If I had to pick a score I would love to say Bolton will  step up to the mark and come away with the win. If they play like they did against Villa it’s a real possibility. However, I can feel a cup upset coming, and with the added boost from the crowd Burnley are going to be far from push overs.

My guess.  Burnley 3   Bolton 2 (Prove me wrong whites!)

Only a Bolton supporter will come out and say his team are gona lose. Where is your optimism you miserable f’king oaf?

Everytime i read a blog from another team no matter who they are playing there is optimism there that they could win but against lowly opposition you say we will lose, you are a f ‘kwit!

    Thanks Mick.
I have an optomism that we can go there and win but I have a nagging feeling that we are going to stumble with a second string team given the circumstances. If Bolton win I will hold my hands up. If we lose though are you going to apologise, nothing wrong with a correct prediction is there?
