Stiker Signs For Bolton, pre-emptive

All the signs point to Bolton Wanderers announcing their fifth signing of the summer within the next couple of days. It is likely that Oldham Athletic youngster Tom Eaves will pen a permanent deal to join the Wanderers when terms between the two clubs are agreed.

The striker was left out of the Latics’ squad on Saturday as they faced Tranmere in the opening game of the season and it is expected that Oldham will be demanding certain incentives, based on Eave’s future success, on top of the £250,000 transfer fee. Eaves has been on the shopping list of a number of Premier League clubs in recent months and his profile shot up when he bagged a hat-trick against Bolton during pre-season.

Coyle had already looked into signing the 6ft 4 eighteen year old and looks set to beat Blackburn and others to his signature. It is possible that Eaves would go out on loan back to Oldham for the rest of the season even if he does sign for the trotters.

According to The Bolton News Eaves could be announced early this week.
